Head of Bioenergy & Land Use
Somang Yang leads the Land Use & Bioenergy Team at SFOC, which seeks to optimize the planet's limited land resources while feeding a growing population and preserving nature.
Prior to joining SFOC, she worked in agriculture roles at the World Bank, Grow Asia (World Economic Forum), and the private sector. She began her career as a journalist for Reuters and the Economist before moving into international development. Somang studied Political Science at Yonsei University, and has dual Master's in Public Administration (MPA) from the London School of Economics and the National University of Singapore. Somang grew up in Sri Lanka and India and has spent much of her career working in South and Southeast Asia.
